New Visions: Applied Engineering
1-Year Program – Seniors Only
Plattsburgh Campus & Mineville Campus
The New Visions: Applied Engineering Program is an application based, rigorous one-year exploratory program for select college-bound seniors planning to major in a field of study in Engineering and/or related fields. The academic curriculum is combined with practical, applied work experience as young professionals engage in STEM concepts at the Institute of Advanced Manufacturing (IAM) and through clinical observations with business & industry partners in the field. The program incorporates dual enrollment in college and high school credit bearing coursework with career exploration and Work-Based Learning (WBL) experiences in Applied Engineering. Young professionals will participate in daily ½ day sessions for the course of the school year during the Senior Year. The purpose of this program is to increase young professional success with determining a college major and career pathway in the field of Engineering and/or related fields.
